Schizophrenia Weight Loss Study – Outpatient

About the Study

Has your anti-psychotic medication caused you to gain weight?

Weight gain is a common side effect of most medications that treat schizophrenia. This study is looking at a new medication to see if it helps reverse antipsychotic-induced weight gain in participants. This study is sponsored by Corcept Pharmaceuticals.

Length of Study:  9 visits over 34 weeks

Eligibility 

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • are between the ages of 18 – 65 years old
  • have been diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • have noticed that you’ve gained 10 pounds or more after starting an antipsychotic medication
  • have noticed that your pants size increased by 4 inches after starting an antipsychotic medication

If chosen for this study, you will be compensated for every study visit that you complete and we can provide transportation if needed.
